He’s in Love!

The signs are obvious, if you know what to look for.

An unrelenting drive to learn everything about her.

Constant worry that he won’t be able to take care of her in the way she deserves.

Pining loneliness when she is out of reach.

Fantasizing about where they will go and what they will do when they are reunited.

Buying extravagant gifts and adornments that show his affection and make her even more attractive.

Other signs aren’t so subtle, like when he turns to me with that dreamy look on his face and says

“I love my new boat!”

On this darkest day of winter, we dream of our new (to us) Albin 28, shrink-wrapped in the boat yard, waiting for our first summer season together.

Summer 2017 - What are we waiting for?

It was time for a change. Time for a new way to be on the water. Time for getting serious about overnighting on the boat.

But it's easy to push these big decisions into the future, to think "some day we'll have a bigger boat".

Every time we stopped for fuel, Sue would wander the docks of the marina, window shopping for a new boat. One day, she saw the perfect boat - with a handwritten "For Sale" sign taped to the side.

That day, we decided that "some day" had arrived.

The journey has begun.
